Founder & Managing Partner, Sterling Equity Partners
Federico Nannini is Managing Partner of Sterling Equity Partners, a Miami-based financial advisory firm supporting privately held and lower-middle-market businesses with strategic finance, forecasting, reporting, transaction advisory, and Office of the CFO services. He works directly with owners and management teams across South Florida, and is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Federico Nannini is the Founder and Managing Partner of Sterling Equity Partners, a fractional CFO firm based in Coral Gables, Florida. He founded the firm on a simple observation: most owner-operated and PE-backed companies between $5M and $50M in revenue have outgrown their bookkeeper, but cannot justify a full-time CFO. What they need is the financial infrastructure that larger businesses take for granted, built and run by someone who has sat on every side of the table.
Federico has sat on each of those sides. At Berkeley Research Group, he advised on M&A transactions across more than 20 deals representing over $3.5B in aggregate transaction value, working on the diligence, restructuring, and execution problems that decide whether a transaction creates or destroys value. At Ark, he moved to the investor seat, underwriting and evaluating lower-middle-market companies as a private equity investor. At Impact Point, he stepped inside portfolio companies themselves, serving in interim VP of Finance roles for PE-backed businesses that needed senior finance leadership immediately, not after a six-month search. He has also advised search fund entrepreneurs at Changebridge on acquiring and operating small businesses.
That combination is rare in the fractional CFO market. Most advisors have either advised on deals or run a finance function. Federico has advised on deals, underwritten them as an investor, and operated inside the companies investors own. For an owner-operated company, that means cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and reporting built to the standard a lender or acquirer will eventually apply. For a PE-backed company, it means a finance leader who already speaks the sponsor's language and knows what the board will ask before the board asks it.
Federico holds an M.S. in Finance from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Finance from Bentley University, where he graduated cum laude. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and works directly with owners and management teams across Miami and South Florida.
